NOTES: Manually cleaned. Notice that it has not been ‘over cleaned’. This enhances the definition of the carving whilst retaining an aged look. Most importantly, it does not damage the harder ‘crust/skin’ of the stone. If this were to happen, the effects of precipitation and the wintertime freeze/thaw action would rapidly accelerate deterioration.

NOTES: Again, manually cleaned. In this example the leaf that has been cleaned shows pitting and the medium is quite porous. With this in mind, a sheltercoat would be very advisable.
